In 2003, Toushe Reservoir was incorporated into the third phase of the landscape beautification project managed by the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration. Attractions such as an ecological boardwalk, a lakeside trail, and the Shanlongkeng Suspension Bridge were added, complementing the natural beauty of the mountains and water. The reservoir area is rich in biodiversity, home to various species of frogs and fireflies. With its scenic beauty and connection to the Sun Moon Lake tourism route, the reservoir has become a popular destination for outdoor education and recreation.
